Audacity 2.1.3 is finally here.
It's been 15 months - a long time to wait - but it's finally here. Audacity has released version 2.1.3, and with it comes a series of long awaited features.
Probably one of the more requested features has been a "pinned head". For those unfamiliar, Audacity currently uses a floating head, which means the line displaying the visual representation of the audio is moving over a static waveform. That's great, until the head moves to the end of the visible page, and quickly flips to the next screen. That's solved with a Pinned Head. With this scheme, the head is static on the page, and the waveform will move underneath it.
But, the one that I think I'm most excited about is the ability to apply effects and edits while the audio is paused (instead of stopped). For anyone who edits as closely as I do, this is a God-send. In a half-hour show, this could easily save me 10-15 minutes per session.
The new version is available Here. Feel free to give it a try and let me know what you think
